Josh Lasky

founder and principal

As a strategist, facilitator, and storyteller, Josh has dedicated his career to advancing sustainability and social impact. Over the course of nearly two decades, he’s implemented change across public, private, and non-profit sectors. Josh blends a people-first approach with an emphasis on clarity and thoughtful inquiry to assess opportunity and work steadily toward key outcomes for teammates, clients, and external audiences.

Most recently, Josh served as Managing Director and Chief Strategist for LINK Strategic Partners, a social impact consulting firm that works with clients to engage and empower audiences to learn, share, and take action. During his five years at LINK, the firm added 300 new clients to its portfolio and built core practice areas in sustainability, strategic planning, and organizational development.

Prior to joining LINK, Josh worked to build strategic partnerships in various roles at the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), most recently leading USGBC’s sponsorship team. Josh also managed the Green Apple partnership and the Community Green program, flagship initiatives of the Center for Green Schools at USGBC. Josh previously held a joint-faculty staff appointment at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), where he launched the university-wide sustainability initiative and served as UDC’s first instructor of Urban Sustainability. Josh also worked as a green building and sustainability consultant for the Cadmus Group and as a Presidential Administrative Fellow at The George Washington University (GW), where he served as the GW Office of Sustainability's first staff member.

As an amateur endurance athlete, Josh has completed more than 6,000 miles of bicycle touring and more than 80 road and trail running races, including 100-mile ultramarathons. Among his one-day running adventures, he’s completed a double traverse of the Grand Canyon (Rim to Rim to Rim) as well as New Hampshire’s Presidential Traverse. He also set a record for the fastest unsupported time on the 31-mile Rock Creek Trail from Olney, MD to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC.

Josh is a member of the board of directors of Climate Ride, a nonprofit established to change lives through sports and drive philanthropic impact for the sustainability movement. Since 2008, Climate Ride has granted more than $6 million to climate and active transportation groups around the country.

Josh is the author of Every Step Is a Gift: Caregiving, Endurance, and the Path to Gratitude (December 2020, New Degree Press), a memoir that explores his 11-year journey as a caregiver to his father. He is also the creator of Wilted Green, a Cards Against Humanity-style card game for skeptical environmentalists, launched through a successful kickstarter campaign.

Josh holds a Master’s in public administration and a Bachelor’s in political science from The George Washington University. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional.
