Josh Lasky MPA, LEED AP Founder + Principal
An experienced strategist, innovator, and educator, Josh Lasky currently works to develop innovative partnerships for the Center for Green Schools (Center) at the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). He leads USGBC's Green Apple initiative, a unique partnership platform that empowers businesses to demonstrate their support of the Center's work to provide green schools for all students within this generation.
Prior to joining the Center, Josh served as Assistant Director for Sustainability Education in the College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences (CAUSES) at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC). Within that capacity, Josh developed sustainability-focused community education programs and served as UDC’s first instructor of Urban Sustainability. Prior to his appointment in CAUSES, Josh served as UDC’s first Sustainability Manager and worked to create the university-wide sustainability initiative.
Before joining UDC, Josh worked as a green building and sustainability strategy consultant for the Cadmus Group and supported DC’s first neighborhood sustainability indicators project while serving in the District of Columbia Office of Planning. While earning his master’s in public administration at The George Washington University (GWU), Josh helped form the GWU Office of Sustainability, serving as its first staff member.
Josh is a member of the board of directors for the Greater Washington Urban League as well as Climate Ride, two organizations that allow him to promote healthy, sustainable, resilient communities for all. Josh is also a LEED Accredited Professional.
As an amateur ultra-endurance athlete, Josh enjoys going the distance on his bike (having pedaled solo and self-supported 4,275 miles across the United States in the summer of 2013) and on foot (recently completing his first 100-mile trail ultramarathon in February 2015).
